Delightful Samburu (3 DAYS/2 NIGHTS)
Unleash your inner explorer as you travel off the beaten track on this northern Kenya Safari, into the remote and dramatic scenery of Samburu, which is dominated by rare wildlife species, such as the Reticulated Giraffe and Long-Necked Gerenuk, and the crocodile-infested Ewaso Nyiro River.
Day 1: Nairobi - Samburu Game Reserve
Catch an early morning flight from Nairobi to Samburu Game Reserve, during which you can enjoy an aerial view, hopefully seeing the snowcapped peaks of Mount Kenya and varying countryside. You’ll be transferred to your lodge for lunch, followed by an afternoon game drive. Enjoy the excitement of Kenya’s outback, where crocodiles lie low in muddy waters and big cats hunt in the shady groves of the riverine forest. Return at sunset for cocktails and dinner, before retiring to bed.
Day 2: Samburu Game Reserve
Take an early morning drive along the Ewaso Nyiro River winding its way around the rocky hills and across the dusty savannah, where you can witness herds of elephants frolicking in the water. Lunch can be had as a picnic in the park or at your lodge, before another afternoon game drive spent searching for prowling predators and some of Kenya’s rare wildlife species including the Blue-Necked Ostrich and Grevy’s Zebra. Unwind in the evening with cocktails, dinner, and another overnight stay. Optional Activities: Bird walks, Cultural visits and dance and camel rides.
Day 3: Samburu Game Reserve - Nairobi
Spend the morning out discovering Samburu’s rugged and diverse terrain, before returning to your lodge for breakfast. You’ll then be transferred to the airstrip for your return flight to Nairobi, arriving into the city at approximately midday.
