Spend your evenings enjoying the spectacular site of the world’s largest waterfall, the Victoria Falls, while sipping on sundowners after an exhilarating day of whitewater rafting down the rapids of the mighty Zambezi River. If that sounds a little too adventurous for your taste, take a houseboat cruise along the exquisite Lake Kariba while watching wild elephants drink at the riverbank as you try your hand at catching the elusive tiger fish. However you choose to spend your time in this unique country, you are bound to leave with a heavy heart and a desire to return again soon to this exceptionally beautiful Southern African country.
South Luangwa National Park
Bordering the Luangwa River, the northern and southern Luangwa National Parks contain some of the most breathtaking and untouched wilderness in Africa. As a result of this and the parks’ successful anti-poaching campaigns, the area has developed into a world-renowned wildlife haven. The South Luangwa National Park is renowned for its walking safari, which allows visitors to view elephant, hippo and even lion close-up under the supervision of professional and knowledgeable armed guides.
Day Itinerary
Arrive Zambia via Lusaka and connect on a domestic flight to South Luangwa. Depending on your time of arrival in Lusaka, there may need to overnight in Lusaka at additional cost to connect with the next scheduled flight to South Luangwa. Accommodation in South Luangwa is on a fully inclusive basis with 2 safari activities on each day.
Overnight: Flatdogs Camp
Flatdogs camp offers a mix of accommodations right next to the South Luangwa NP. The luxurious Crocodile Nest is a two bed-roomed tented house with private pool, which comes with a private vehicle and guide. The wilder Jackallbery Tree house is a two bed-roomed, open-fronted reed house built on platforms around four live Ebony trees, over-looking a game rich waterhole. The chalets suit families perfectly as they feel more solid and the kids can walk through to their parents’ room without having to go outside. The luxury tents are spread out along the riverbank and are the “Africa under canvas” experience, often with elephant browsing around them and hippo grazing just outside. The standard tents are just a little smaller but still with full en-suite facilities. The food at Flatdogs is renowned in the safari world as they have an a la carte restaurant serving a wide range of delicious & creative meals catering to all diets and needs. Safaris are led by expert guides who have studied all facets of the natural world. They can explain in detail the inter-locking ecology of the Park and use nature’s alarm calls to find interesting sightings for guests rather than following the herd!

Located on the Zimbabwean border in southern Zambia the Lower Zambezi National Park is known for its exceptional, undeveloped wildlife areas. It is known for its abundant game and a variety of different wildlife can be spotted such as hippos, buffalo, crocodiles, fish eagles and herds of elephants. The landscape features rugged unspoiled wilderness made up of vast floodplains scattered with woodlands. Visitors can look forward to an array of wonderful activities along the Zambezi including game drives, walking safaris, canoe trips, and excellent tiger fishing.
Day Itinerary
On this day, you will transfer to the airport for a scheduled flight to Lusaka and then a road transfer Lower Zambezi. Your stay in Lower Zambezi is on a fully inclusive basis with activities as will be scheduled by your host, bearing your interest in mind. The choice for activities in Lower Zambezi are morning and afternoon game drives, canoeing, fishing, river safari and village/community tours.
Overnight: Kiambi Safari Lodge
Kiambi Lower Zambezi is a traditional Zambian safari lodge offering luxury holidays with numerous activities. Offering eight air conditioned chalets, Kiambi specializes in offering visitors a true Zambia safari experience which include fishing, land and walking safaris. The spacious, comfortable luxury air conditioned chalets, luxury thatched tented chalets, self-catering accommodation and camping facilities all have breathtaking views over the Zambezi River and a committed, dedicated team of professional guides at Kiambi Lower Zambezi poses an intimate knowledge of the area, its wildlife and birdlife. Located near the Zambezi River in south-western Zambia, the bustling town of Livingstone is famous as the home of the magnificent Victoria Falls. One of the original natural wonders of the world, the World Heritage Site is known locally as ‘The Smoke that Thunders’. This spectacle is accessible from both Zambia and Zimbabwe and is an ideal place to combine game viewing and water sports. There is much to do including excellent fishing, a thrilling bungee jump and arguably the best commercial whitewater rafting in the world. Visitors can hike around the falls, try zip lining or enjoy the incredible bridge swing. Those seeking more leisurely activities can take sunset cruises along the river, with champagne and snacks included, meander through the vibrant local Livingstone Market, or discover the region’s history and archaeology at the Livingstone Museum.

Mosi-Oa-Tunya Walking Safari
Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park, Livingstone – Walking Safari. Enjoy a 3 hour leisurely walk in the Mosi-oa-Tunya Park led by a professional guide and Park Scout. Experience up-close encounters with the endangered White Rhino and other wildlife, including Buffalo, Hippo, Impala and Warthog. The extensive knowledge of the Guide is not just about the many species of animals and birds but also about the wide variety of trees and plant life along with their local medicinal properties and uses (not all animal sightings can be guaranteed).

Livingstone Island
This is the spot from which David Livingstone got his first glimpse of the majestic falls. You can catch a boat trip out to the Island and enjoy the exceptional view from here. You can peer over the edge only feet above the water and if you are up for it and the water level is right you can swim in the Devil’s Pool only feet from the more than 100m plunge.
